Rebecca is currently finishing her memoir PAPER HOUSE about losing her mom, fifteen years ago, to opioid addiction. After the funeral, Rebecca discovers she’s inherited a box of her mother’s unpublished poetry, journals, and short stories, which she leaves unopened for years. When Rebecca herself becomes a mother, six years later, desperate for guidance, she turns to her mother’s writings. What she finds, instead, is a way to finally forgive. PAPER HOUSE is a joint memoir, the story of a young woman reclaiming her family’s story brick by brick, and of a mother and daughter finding their way through trauma to break the cycle of addiction.
