Journalist | Author | Editor | Storyteller
I’m Rebecca Brenner, an award-winning journalist, editor, poet, and author. I believe in the power of close attention: listening deeply, asking the right questions, and finding the shape of a story beneath the surface.
My writing has appeared in TIME, the Los Angeles Times, Tin House, The Rumpus, Mutha Magazine, Variant Literature, TownLift, and other publications. I am also the author of Paper House, a memoir-in-verse about grief, addiction’s legacy, motherhood, and the complicated work of making meaning from the past.
As a journalist and editor, I write reported features, essays, profiles, and brand stories. I also work with individuals and organizations to shape stories that feel clear, honest, and fully alive — whether that means refining a piece of writing, developing a narrative from the ground up, or helping someone bring a larger story to the page.
Alongside my writing work, I teach mindfulness and creativity workshops rooted in present-moment attention, open awareness, and the belief that our deepest work often begins when we learn how to listen.
Have a story, project, or idea you would like to explore? I’d love to hear from you.
